Why blog?

Why am I writing on this blog? What do I hope to acheive?

Well, firstly...I am not getting any younger and neither are any of my 8 kiddos. I take pictures like crazy, but I have never journaled. That makes me sad because unless I wrote down something cute in my calendars, I have forgotten lots of things. My memory isn't good enough for the day to day cuteness of children. Conversations, I remember...calling the dog God, I don't. We do not have a dog, but you get the gist.

I want to preserve these memories, but why make it public? Or at least kind of public? Well, I am glad I did, because I have met a couple of very great people while doing this, and I have recieved some great advice and encouragement. This isn't like me to reach out to people, so finding out I can do it has been nice. I am usually someone who can do things on my own thank you very much...but as a mother and woman in Christ, you can't do it alone! We need encouragement, and someone to make us laugh at ourselves. To help us become better mommies or wives.

So, that is my reasons. I may or may not open this blog for everyone. There is that whole stalker thing and anonymity (is that the word?) and the fact that I use real names. Could a stalker find me and beat me with a wet noodle because I have 8 children AND a messy house? That would make me kind of afraid. Would I be gracious to the troll who questioned me, rather than suppported me? Who knows. However, I am glad I let the few who are here in. You really do help me. Thank you!!

Oh, and just for posterity sake, Nathan just pooped in the potty!!! On his own!!! Without me making him. WOOHOO!! Celebrate with me, ladies. LOL!

Holly,

I'm so glad you invited me to your blog, because it's one of my favorites! I visit often, probably several hundred times a day. :-) (just kidding, I only visit 250 x's per day, not several hundred)

Yay, for Nathan!! That's always the most exciting part of potty training, because they finally know how it all works, and now you just have to convince him to keep doing it. Hope you have lots of candy available!

We go back and forth on the stalker thing, and I'm not sure how I feel about posting pictures and names, either. But, I know I enjoy others' blogs, especially the pictures, so I don't know the answer.

Yeah, it's kind of hard because WE wouldn't stalk, so we tend to want to see the world like we are. Then we realize some people aren't like us. And that stinks.

Also, that's okay about the 250 times a day!! I go to your's about that often too. You know that bible saying...an eye for an eye and all. LOL.

Holly, I love your blog! Thank you so much for letting me share in your family life!

Also, WAY TO GO NATHAN!!! What a grown-up young man!

We have to figure out some way to get Matthew to use the potty. We haven't been trying too hard, because he's just now 2 1/2, and I usually let boys mature a little. But I think it's just about time!

Boys are HARD! My daughter trained herself. I think its just the maturity level difference. Girls tend to grasp things that take thought quicker. Nothing wrong with that, but it's kind of how I see things with my friends kids and my own.
