I remember living in Oklahoma for 5 years and missing the ocean and the beaches the whole time! :)
I also missed fresh, affordable seafood, especially when I was pregnant (cravings for shrimp and such, of course!)....maybe that's another reason people gravitate towards the coasts, or at least towards large bodies of water like the Great Lakes.
Of course, Oklahoma has its good points too! Or I wouldn't have lived there for 5 years and had 3 of my babies there! :)

Of course, acreage doesn't count, only number of votes. Interesting how all of the largest population centers are on the coasts, isn't it?
