can anyone help me with a dilemma?

I know...I know. I keep asking for stuff. First, donations to go on this trip, then camping tips. But now...I need help getting rid of things. How do any of you decide what to get rid of and what to keep? I am a sentimental junkie and with 8 kids, I always want things on hand for any of them. That leads to too much clutter. I want tips for organizing and purging. Motivation for purging. Something!!!

If I haven't used it in a year's time I usually give it away so that someone else can get some good out of it.

A few things are kept for sentimental value.

I think the "one year rule" is a good one. If you haven't needed it in a year (unless it's a keepsake or photographs), then give it away or toss it!

Of course, I'm telling myself this too, because we have too much stuff! :)

Holly....you need my phone number, don't you? Email me, OK? Or better yet, I'll email you.

yeah, Joann. Send it to me in an email. I still can't believe we are doing this. It seems surreal....I just want to say, nope..not going. But I can't. Can you tell, I do NOT like change? LOL

Well I once heard a sermon that convicted me to get rid of clothes. I had been boxing them up in all different sizes and genders bc we had plans to continue having children. After the sermon I started purging.

Basically it said that by holding on to stuff we dont really need we are not letting God provide for us...and we arent passing the blessings on.

SO...now I only save special outfits. And things that someone will soon wear.

Magically (blessedly) I have been given an entire wardrobe for Asa this summer...and I've found several really good deals for the girls at garage sales so far. Doing good and still purging.

Gotta admit, it's scary.
