finally, with updates!!

So, it's been forever. Sick families, plus finding facebook has made me choose my time carefully. Facebook---never thought I would get into it, but it really is fun! A big time waster, but still fun nontheless. I hope the novelty wears off soon, because I need to preserve some more memories here.

By the way...who is reading from virginia? Hello whoever you are!! Sorry my blog has been so boring lately.

Basketball is almost over, thank the good Lord!! We have sustained only a few injuries this year. 2 sprained ankles from one kid, and a sprained wrist/silver cap falling out from another. They all want to play again next year, so I guess all is well. Now the daughter wants to play too, so next year shall be busy, I am sure! The two little guys are playing on the local YMCA this year also. I don't know about this Y stuff. They focus on teamwork, which is great, but they let the kids get away with so much stuff. They don't really enforce dribbling, and the fouling is kind of out of control. I don't think that is good learning. But what do I know? LOL!

Rachel has been put in her stander once. She kind of liked it, but it left pressure marks on her knees and feet. Wonder what I can do about that? She is so much more expressive these days. She has this love/hate relationship with this fuzzy blue pillow. She grabs it, gets overwhelmed with the texture, recoils and screams, but then goes in again. It is hilarious. She used to get overwhelmed with certain things in a bad way, and would take awhile to calm down, so this isn't like that. She realizes the pillow is safe, and fun....just a little weird, and she wants to touch it.

Aaron's eye is about the same. He claims he doesn't see double, but who knows? We go in to the surgeon in a couple of weeks. He is pretty grumpy lately. I think he is hitting this stage where he is too big for the littles, and to little for the bigs. He doesn't quite know where he fits in, and so he argues with everyone alot. We are working on that....

Conner is the most creative person I know. He is 5 years old, and can make some of the most original lego creations ever! They look like lego should sell them, that's how good they are...seriously. I am the worst critic about things, and if I am impressed, that means it is good. They are huge, and elaborate planes, and star wars type things. I should get a pic on here.

Adam has been playing on a YMCA team, but also getting to play with Trinity's Junior High team, which is an honor because he is only 5th grade and it is usually reserved for 6th and 7th graders. He looks so little out there, but he loves it and is very good.

Nathan is still very much Nathan. Stopped the whole potty training thing, did a complete 180, and I have no clue what to do. You think moms with 8 kids would be super experienced and know everything, well....I am here to dispell that myth. They are truly individuals, and what works for one wont work for the other. We have chosen not to fight him, and just be encouraging when he tries.

whew....My fingers hurt, so I will close this novel. Please leave me a comment and tell me who still reads this blog. :)

Well, I still read this blog! And I was getting ready to send you one of those "Are you still alive?" emails!!

Facebook??!? Is that where you've been?

I really wanted to know how Aaron's eye was doing, so thanks for the update....I'm still praying for him.

Matthew and Nathan are on the same wavelength, apparently. Matthew is now regressing in his potty-training, and we have allowed him to wear diapers during the day when he just refuses to use the potty. We don't want to force him if he's not ready.

Do you still look at Emma's blog occasionally? or any of my blogs?

I do! I just read about Emma's new stander and was wondering her exact age again, because you said she was 20 pounds, which is the same as Rachel. So, I do read....just don't comment sometimes.

Yeah, Facebook...annoying but addictive.

why is your login's registering from herndon virginia, joann? i know its you now, because your the only one who came here yesterday, when you commented.

That's really weird! I don't know why it would register as Virginia. The only thing that is a bit different about my IP address is that I'm on a Virtual Private Network (VPN) through my work. I wonder if that makes it show up in strange ways?

I know that on my own blog it sometimes shows up as Westlake Village CA, which is not close to me at all.

Hey, Holly....have you been able to look for a cheaper hotel for the convention yet? The convention is a fairly long drive from my house, but probably not worth getting a hotel room for us.

holly said...

no...i am wondering if we shouldn't try to camp out or something. between gas and convention fees, i really wonder how on earth we are going to pay for this thing anyway...i really hope it pans out somehow though, because i would hate to miss it again.

Just so you know....I really, really want to ask you to stay at our house, but it's small, and Paul kind of freaked out when I asked him. Because I said that your family has a total of 10 people! :)

If I have time to work on him it may work out....I don't know. He just thinks our house is way too small.

If the older kids could camp out in the backyard perhaps, we could put other people in the family room and the living room in sleeping bags or on an air mattress (we have a couple). Plus we could have Emma sleep in our room and let somebody have her room.

Anyway....just pray! OK? :)

OMG!!! Your comment finally came to my email!!! Woohoo....I dont know what happened, but this is the first notification ever that I got about you.

Ok...now that's over. I can totally understand freaked out...so tell Paul it doesn't offend me at all whatsoever. I can't imagine putting an additional 10 people in my own house...That said, I don't think anyone would mind camping outside in your backyard either. I am not going to put you in an uncomfortable spot, so if you find a way, great!! But if not, that is okay too! I would still love to meet you and your family in person no matter what.

I really need to figure everything out, because on the one hand, I want to take everyone so it could be a mini vacation and hello....disneyland. But on the other hand I wonder if I should just leave everyone else here, and only take rachel? I am so torn. I truly want my kids to see that they are NOT the only ones who have a disabled sibling. Even though they know that, it's different when you see it face to face.

In any event, please do pray...I really need God to tell me what to do.

Love ya!!
